Meteor Theater

Meteor Theater is a student-run movie program that screens popular movies on campus throughout the school year. It includes the Cosmic Film Festival and Cosmic Film Workshops, which are held each spring to encourage an interest and appreciation of student-created original movies and short films.

Our Programs

Cosmic Film Workshops

As part of the cinema education program, industry professionals experienced in topics like screenwriting, editing, directing and acting lead workshops to introduce filmmaking techniques to students.

Through our values of diversity and cooperation, the Cinematheque program strives to create an appreciation of film by screening indie, art-house and classic films. Each Cinematheque screening is followed by a discussion with guest speakers related to subjects and themes from the featured film.

The Mainstream movie program applies our values of accessibility and immersion by making the movie theater experience free to all students. Enjoy blockbuster films and refreshments without ever leaving campus.

Cosmic Film Festival

The Cosmic Film Festival is the annual student film festival where the creations of passionate UT Dallas students are screened. It is a night of glitz and glam where student works are awarded in seven different categories, from Best Sound Design to Best Film!
