Cosmic Film Festival

Submission Criteria

Films entered in the Cosmic Film Festival should be under ten minutes in length. Films can be submitted through an online form. Submissions are open to all students registered at a high school or university in the Dallas area. Each student may submit one film to be screened and judged at the festival.

Who may enter the Cosmic Film Festival?

Any high school or university student in the Dallas area who is registered in the Spring 2021 semester.

Will the film be shown publicly?

What will the films be judged on?

A select committee of Meteor Theater members will review each submission and select the best films to award at the Cosmic Film Festival. Films are evaluated on storytelling ability, technical achievements, and originality.

What are the constraints for the short film?

Films should be under ten minutes in length. Submissions that do not adhere to the time constraint will not be screened.

Award Categories

This year's awards will be based solely on technical and performance merit regardless of genre. There may also be special awards given at the discretion of the judges. For awards contention, only films 10 minutes or less in length will be considered.
